Benjamin Zaitchik is an associate professor in the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. His research addresses hydroclimatic variability across a range of spatial and temporal scales. This includes work on fundamental atmospheric and hydrological processes as well as applications to water resources, agriculture, energy, and human health. Prior to joining JHU, Ben was a research associate at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and a American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellow at the U.S. Department of State. He holds a Ph.D. in geology and geophysics from Yale University, an M.Ss in soil sciences from Cornell University, and a B.A. in biology from Harvard College.
