Hansi Singh studies the myriad of interactions between atmosphere, ocean, and ice over both poles, using a combination of Earth system models and satellite observations. She is interested in the differences between the climate change response over the Arctic and Antarctic, particularly with respect to the sea ice. She also studies the interconnection of the poles with the rest of the Earth system, particularly through the atmospheric transport of moisture, in the form of vapor, cloud liquid, or ice. She cochairs the Community Earth System Model’s Polar Climate Working Group.
