Trouet Receives 2019 Paleoceanography and Paleoclimatology Willi Dansgaard Award

Valerie Trouet received the 2019 Willi Dansgaard Award at AGU's Fall Meeting 2019, held 9–13 December in San Francisco, Calif. The award is given in recognition of “high research impact, innovative interdisciplinary work, educational accomplishments, such as mentoring, or positive societal impact” and “exceptional promise for continued leadership in paleoceanography and paleoclimatology.”

Creasy and Wu Receive 2019 Study of the Earth’s Deep Interior Section Award for Graduate Research

Neala Marie Creasy and Wenbo Wu received the 2019 Study of the Earth’s Deep Interior Section Award for Graduate Research at AGU’s Fall Meeting 2019, held 9–13 December in San Francisco, Calif. The award is given annually for advances that contribute to “the understanding of the deep interior of the Earth or other planetary bodies using a broad range of observational, experimental, or theoretical approaches.”

Ajeet Kumar Maurya received the 2019 Sunanda and Santimay Basu International Early Career Award in Sun–Earth Systems Science at AGU’s Fall Meeting 2019, held 9–13 December in San Francisco, Calif. The award recognizes “work that shows promise of making outstanding contributions to research in Sun–Earth systems science and furthers the understanding of plasma physical processes and their applications for the benefit of society.”

Nat “Gopal” Gopalswamy received the 2019 Space Physics and Aeronomy Richard Carrington (SPARC) Education and Public Outreach Award at AGU’s Fall Meeting 2019, held 9–13 December in San Francisco, Calif. The award is “presented annually to a senior scientist for significant impact on the public’s understanding of space physics and aeronomy through their education or outreach activities.”
