Timothy Oleson joined Eos as the science editor in 2019 after 7 years as a staff writer and then news editor at EARTH magazine. He has a Ph.D. in geology and an M.A. in journalism and mass communication, both from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, as well as a B.S. in chemistry from Tufts University.
