Catherine A. McCammon has officially joined the AGU Board of Directors. The Leadership Development and Governance Committee would like to thank everyone who voted during the recent special election to fill a vacancy on the Board. AGU President Robin Bell and other Board members welcomed Catherine at the virtual Board meeting held on 21 November 2019. She will serve the remainder of Chris Ballentine’s term, which ends on 31 December 2020.
At the time of the special election in early November, there were 44,879 eligible voters. Of those voters, 6.08% cast ballots, compared to 5.8% in the last special election in 2017. The committee received evaluations from 1,502 voters, with 92.4% of them indicating they were satisfied or very satisfied with the process.
