B. T. Richman

Barbara T. Richman served as editor in chief of Eos from July 2007 through May 2018. She worked for more than 30 years on Earth, environmental, and energy publications.
Her previous positions included managing editor of the peer-reviewed monthly magazine Environment: Science and Policy for Sustainable Development, published by Heldref Publications. While there, she also served intermittently as the editorial and production director of Weatherwise magazine. Barbara has served on the Outstanding Publication Award Committee of the Association of Earth Science Editors (AESE); on the print screening panel for the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science Journalism Award; and on the Communications Advisory Committee of the American Geosciences Institute. She has chaired sessions and participated as a panelist at AESE meetings and at the International Geological Congress.
