Bummed that you missed the submission deadline for the Student T-shirt Design contest? Not to worry! The American Geophysical Union (AGU) is extending the deadline to 1 September, the same deadline as the Student Video Contest. Both contests are open to AGU student members, and winners of both contests receive free student registration to the 2015 Fall Meeting.

The Student T-Shirt Design contest is a great way to show off your graphic design skills by creating a one-of-a-kind T-shirt with an Earth or space science theme. The winning design will appear on T-shirts sold at the Fall Meeting, and proceeds will be donated to the Student Travel Grant Fund. Check out the AGU store to see last year’s winning T-shirt and other AGU apparel.

The student video contest gives students the opportunity to share a unique short video that will be showcased on AGU’s YouTube channel. Students can explain an aspect of Earth and space science for a nonscientific audience, showcase an interesting geophysical career path, or even perform a song or skit.

AGU will accept submissions until 1 September, and up to five semifinalists will be chosen for each competition. The winners will be selected by AGU’s Facebook and YouTube page audiences. The submissions with the most “likes” on 18 September will be chosen as the winners for each contest.

For more information on rules and how to submit, please visit the student page on the Fall Meeting website or contact [email protected].
